WFRN's Doug Moore's Mission Trip
Doug, popular co-host and Music Director of the WFRN
104.7 Family Friendly Morning Show* (and GNS USA board member), took several weeks away from his radio responsibilities this
past summer to join Brother John on a long trip to Eastern Europe. They delivered Bibles and humanitarian aid to
some of the poorest-of-the-poor...including families who receive no other aid from the West. ******* * WFRN
is an award-winning Christian radio station in Northern Indiana.

Doug and Brother John drove thousands of kilometers from Western Europe to Ukraine (with stops in Hungary
and Romania) where the summer camps for street kids and teens, most from non-believing homes, started the first
week of July (Note: Thanks to your support new camps for younger children were added last summer in early
June). They visited the camp, where each summer about 500 kids come from the surrounding cities to attend one
of six or seven camps held in the mountains. During the one week camps, hundreds go forward to repent and receive
the Lord. Doug and Brother John also visited churches, evangelists and families with desperate needs. Thank you
for your prayers for traveling mercies - they returned safe and sound! ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg To start at the beginning of Doug's journal, scroll to the bottom.
8/1 After almost 2 weeks in Eastern Europe, we're back @ home base
for the ministry I'm with (GNS: A Mission to Eastern Europe - gnsusa.org) in Western Europe. After seeing
a lot of fruit firsthand, it's good to get better acquainted with the roots. :-) I'm also getting lots of great reading/reflecting/planning
done. I can't WAIT to get back in the saddle and hit it hard for the Lord! :-) See ya soon!Thank you, WFRN Family! -->
WFRN is now #1 among all radio stations / all
adults (25+) in the entire 12-county Michiana region! :-) You have made us the #1 most-listened-to Morning Show in Michiana!
(this is among ALL stations - not just Christian stations) We're also blessed with strong listenership in the other 30+ counties
across IN & MI. Vincy & I have said it a thousand times: WFRN Listeners are the best!:)
7/30 I'm stuck in a massive traffickehjammin on the German Autobahn (the good news is, on the Autobahn, even
the traffic jams go 75! :-) Kidding. It's a standstill. I'm tiredoofgedrivinggesittzen:) and the DJs on the German radio stations
remind me of old Mike Myers "Dieter" skits on Sat Nite Live (Hmm... hate to think what I'd remind them of:)
7/29 I'm finally back in Romania, beginning the long
ride back to Western Europe (w/ a pitstop in Serbia). God has blessed this trip greatly. I have to say - I've really
missed the WFRN Family, tho it's been worth it. I can't wait to say good morning again to everyone next week! :-)
7/28 Hey everybody, would you do me a big favor? Would you say a prayer 4 my friend? J lives out West. No contact
for yrs. He FB'd me 4 days ago & really opened up & shared that even tho he has a succesful career, he feels no real
sense of meaning, life seems pointless, & he sometimes wishes he wouldn't wake up in the morning. Of course I shared about
Jesus & urged him to cry out to Him & give Him control of his...
7/27 Hallelujah! Several people came forward to give their lives to Christ @ a service
in Eastern Ukraine yesterday. I wasn't certain what to say, then I felt that God gave me (and the others) the right words.
They had tears of repentance, and we all had tears of joy. These two things I know: we are great sinners; and Christ is a
great Savior. gnsusa.org
7/25 North of the Black Sea! 100+, humid no AC (even in cars), no
shower. I've gone thru 4 shirts in 2 days. I can handle it. but i feel sorry 4 the Ukrainians. God is good. Manana I speak
to a Gypsy church with almost 1,000 Christian Gypsies! Then we drive back to near the Romanian border thru the cool overnight
(ahhh...) check out this site gnsusa.org See why camel caravans move at night! At long last a place to sleep after 24 hours traveling with no AC in 110 degree
heat. But no shower or indoor toilet ( i might even trade those for the internet!!) Ahh who cares after seeing the joy of
these remote Ukrainians over a shipment of shoes & Bibles
7/24 Just spoke to 130 10-12 year old children at a summer camp in central Ukraine, 120 of them gave their lives to Jesus
this week :-) My deephearted admiration for Christian camp counselors, in Ukraine and America, only in eternity will we know
the difference you guys have made. You're amazing!!! I'm traveling with a big load of children's Bibles and shoes to the center
of Ukraine. It's 105 and humid here, and no AC in this van - I feel like i am back home in Indiana! :-) (well, except for
the no AC part) Well worth it!
7/23
Supper in the home of
Christian Mayor of Chudei, Ukraine. Then amazing worship service in Ukrainian church with evangelist from Moldavia. I shared
some words of encouragment and Alexai Bragari translated. Tomorrow much travel into Ukraine. God is good! :) I am at a children's summer camp in south central Ukraine. It's beautiful seeing the children learn
about the Bible and Jesus, and give their hearts to Him. Many of them from non-Christian homes. But sad that there aren't
the funds to accept all the children who want to come. :(
7/22 I went to Chernovtsi,
Ukraine and saw the revival going on in that city (1/3 million, + surrounding region). Many are being baptized at a
time to show their new relationship with Christ - but the need for Bibles to grow their new faith is great. It's a blessing,
and a challenge. We met with several pastors and left several thousand New Testaments and children's Bibles. Praise
God! :-)
7/21 I
am in Ukraine! :-) Amazing fellowship with believers in NE Romania today. Revivial in this area, but not enough Bibles
and New Testaments and I was blown away by their faith and their need. Tonight we entered Ukraine. I'm staying
with a beautiful family, preparing to go deeper in and visit the chidren's camps. God is amazing! :-)
7/20 Hi
Everybody! :-) I have been attempting to post status updates from my iPhone via text (texts are a little pricey - but
internet is exhorbitant) - and now getting on-line @ my new friends home, I see that they have been posting as gibberish!...will
try to fix this, but until then I hope to begin Morning Show Updates with Vincy...Praise Jesus!
7/18 Barreling through Germany on the Autobahn in the middle of the night! We'll enter Austria about the
time the sun rises. I feel like a NASCAR driver...Big wreck on the Autobahn (not good @ over 200 km/hr) - the German
police rerouted everyone onto a side road. Much slower, but fun winding through the German towns & villages in the
middle of the night - frauleins staring out their windows @ the river of traffic :-) Vienna,
Austria today - what a distinct city - and surprisingly (for me) close to Budapest. My thoughts are in Indiana tho with
the free Jars of Clay concert...@ the Elkhart County Fair. Invite an unsaved neighbor at the last minute and see how
God works tonight!...We're in Hungary. Met with believers in Biske (sp?). Tommorrow, Romania! :-)
7/17 I'm posting this from Western Europe, in the home of the director of GNS (Brother John). We are leaving
in minutes to drive thru the night into Hungary, on the way to Ukraine. Sitting and listening to Brother John talk -
it's like a war briefing - yet he is full of the peace of Christ. Thank you for your prayers - for the children,
for the Bible camps, for God's will :-)
7/16 Pray for Adam from Chicago (my
seatmate on flight). Very talkative, passionate about a lot of good things - but I don't think he has a relationship
with Jesus...
