More Bibles...for Less

In-country Bible purchases eliminate increasingly prohibitive shipping costs and import duties - leaving more of each donated dollar to buy additional Bibles

Earlier in GNS' history, quality Bibles (i.e. those that could withstand many years of heavy use) were purchased in various countries such as Germany and imported to Eastern European countries.  Since the collapse of the communist regime, nearly all the Bibles are now purchased in the country where they are distributed.  While generally always costing much less than printing in the West, this approach saves shipping costs and sometimes prohibitive import taxes and duties.  The dollars saved enable us to use your gifts to purchase and distribute even more Bibles.

Old government printing press inside Russia now prints Bibles - avoiding sometimes exhorbitant import duties (and possible future import restrictions)

As far back as the spring of 2008 GNS learned (from another mission) that a container of Bibles bound for Moscow was to have been charged approximately US $15,000 by customs agents.  Sadly the mission didn't have the funds, and the Bibles were returned.  While this same mission has since imported Bibles without the exhorbitant duties the situation could change - without warning - at any time.  GNS saves time and money, and avoids these sometimes extreme import duties in Russia, by printing inside the country - often on an old government printing press.

Your support of GNS goes further and touches more new believers including street children, orphans, and teens.  Some are from non-believing homes where the parents come to the Lord through their children.
